Ed Sans Jr
The man they called "The Sanman" started racing Late Models at San Jose and racked up three championships in a row before deciding he wanted to compete for NASCAR Regional points. Since they weren't giving his division those points at San Jose, he came out to Antioch Speedway and started after the track point battle had begun. He might have won the track championship after winning the finale in 1985, but a quick thinking Bobby Hogge III hit reverse and backed across the finish line to salvage his title. He did win the 1986 track championship and was also the 1988 Regional title winner. He won 35 Late Model Main Events at Antioch Speedway alone. Sans went on to win more championships at Petaluma Speedway before retiring.
