John Bellando
John Bellando was tied with brother Dave for third in 1981 Street Stock points and second in 1983. He won 17 Main Events by 1986 and was all time Street Stock winner until passed by Troy Shirk in 1989. He won a 50 lap Figure 8 and won the first 200 lap Enduro in 1986, coming back from four laps down to do it.
He wore the "black hat" as the bad guy for track manager Paul "Red" Bender, who used John's reputation to draw fans. People would get up and leave when Street Stocks ended the program, but they started sticking around to see what John would do in his famous #56 car
