Snork Wilson
Snork Wilson was one of the first big local stars when the track was being established in the 1960's. He won six Main Events at a time when we were getting C Mains and just making the Main Event was a challenge. He was fourth in points in 1964 and and second in 1965. He had a reputation for building fast race cars and built cars for others back in those days. Snork Wilson got involved when it was the Hardtop Auto Claimers class. Cars were claimable for $99. The division transitioned from that to the Limited Sportsman's in 1964 and the Sportsman division in 1965. Wilson finished fourth in points in 1964 and was second a year later. He scored six Main Event wins during that time in the highly competitive field. He was also a top-notch car builder who built a few race cars for others in the area. He was well respected among his peers.
